Walking Football
Walking Football is a modified version of traditional football (soccer) designed to be gentler, low-impact, and accessible to people of all ages and abilities. It is especially suitable for individuals who are returning to sports after a break, or those who have never played before. The key feature of the game is that players must walk, not run, while playing, which reduces the physical strain and risk of injury.

This version of football is often played in small-sided games, where the emphasis is on social interaction, fun, and safety, rather than competitive performance. The rules are adjusted to promote inclusivity and enjoyment, with a focus on providing both physical and mental health benefits. Walking Football also fosters social connectedness and aims to encourage older Australians to stay active and engaged in their communities.

Additionally, Walking Football is designed to be intergenerational, promoting participation across all ages and encouraging family involvement. It also offers opportunities for players to continue being part of their local football clubs, either as participants, members, or volunteers. Overall, it serves as an accessible, enjoyable way for people to remain active, socially engaged, and involved in the sport of football.
